Product Description
Amla candy made with jaggery is a traditional and healthier version of the regular amla candy, where natural jaggery (gur) is used instead of refined sugar. It is prepared using fresh Indian gooseberries (amla), which are first washed, lightly boiled, and then cut into pieces after removing the seeds.

These amla pieces are then cooked slowly in a jaggery syrup until they absorb the sweetness and lose much of their natural sourness. The slow cooking process allows the flavors of amla and jaggery to blend well, giving the candy a rich, earthy sweetness with a mild tangy taste.

After cooking, the pieces are dried under the sun or at room temperature until they become chewy and firm like candy. Sometimes, ingredients like cardamom or a small amount of lemon juice are added to enhance the flavor.

This jaggery-based amla candy is considered more natural and nutritious compared to sugar-based versions. Amla is already rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, while jaggery adds minerals like iron. Together, they make a wholesome snack that is often believed to support digestion, boost immunity, and provide energy. It is also easy to store and can last for a long time when kept in airtight containers.
* Amla (Indian gooseberry) – 1 kg * Jaggery (gur) – 700–800 g * Water – 2 cups * Cardamom powder – 1 tsp * Lemon juice – 1 tbsp (optional)
